I am very new to the entire Discovery game as the vehicle has only been with us for four days. It's a 94 300series diesel with 208km on the clock but in the main with good body and interior. We have had it checked and touch wood all seems sound. My question is in relation to the drivers door. Its the door that is used the most and has dropped a very small amount. When it is closed the usual clunk found on the other doors is not there and it needs a wee slam. How do I readjust the bar on the B frame so as all is well again. great fuel economy!!! Brian |

Loosen the bit on the B pillar (like you do a bolt ) and you should be able to slide it about a bit to a new position and then tighten it again - might need to try a few positions. |

Congrats with your new vehicle, and welcome on board! Check if the hinges are OK. Especially the lower one. If your door needs adjustments at B-post, one of the hinges are supposedly worn - like the centre peg inducing some slack. You will then have to replace that hinge, pegs are not available alone. They are not expensive (expect ~6 each) See here on Ottos site: http://www.sf.hiof.no/~frodehaa/Bodywork.htm#front hinge Main entrance: http://home.halden.net/discovery Hope this helps! |

Many thanks for that Frode. Seems obvious really. I will replace the lower hidge first and see if that improves matters. If not then the top one gets done. Are all the hidges the same through the series and years? Brian

Seems they are all the same through the years, but each and every one of the hinges have individual part# I guess if you have someone lifting the door, you should see where the movement is, so should know what to purchase. It's a bit fiddly to get access and the door is quite heavy, so if you are unsure, I'd replace both while being at it - it is really no more work replacing both than only one. |
