Yesterday my driversside electric window wouldn't come up anymore. Motor was moving but racheting sound coming from behind cover. Of course it was pouring and around freezing Anyway, does anybody know a cure? And no, PLEASE no smart remarks ) Greetz, Joey [email protected] |

Joey, It's quite common for the channel in which the window is mounted to rust/rot away. It eventually breaks off. You will have to remove the inside door panel and peel away the protective plastic sheet. It is quite easy to replace, the most difficult part being getting the glass pane into the channel. Joey, First step is to get inside the door. Take all the hardware off the door and then carfully pry the door skin away from the frame. Once inside you will see that either the roller broke or the entire regulator arm broke. Either way unless you fix it as shown in the Tech section you are going to need a new regulator. First, manuever the window back up and use duct tape across the top of the door to hold it in place until your order a new regulator. I always order some of the plastic posts that hold the door on just in case i break some. Regulator goes on pretty simply. There is one bolt that's head looks like a "star" but I was able to use a flat head screw driver in there instead. Email me with any questions. |
