I purchased a 95 Disco last summer not really paying much attention to the heater. When I tested the unit it worked. It blows and works on both sides. I guess because I'm in the South it felt hot. Well now its winter and the thing only blows warm/hot air on the passenger side. When I turn the nob for the driver side it seems "loose" unlike the other side when I turn it it feels like its turning something behind it. Can someone answer this? |

The heater controls are known to break and more than likely that is your issue. |

Had this problem with my '94 disco, the cable broke free from the control knob. I was able to put the cable back in place and secure it with a wire tie. Depending on the break you might be able to do the same. |

If you pull your radio out you'll have enough room to look and see that most likely the little plastic clip on the back of suspect knob is cracked off. I reattached mine and used some heavy duty wire to secure it. Once you've pulled the radio and you have your flashlight, you'll see it's a fairly easy job to tackle. Good luck.. RS |

Pulled the radio and noticed a metal wire that has a coiled end sitting there. Turned the suspect knob and it aligned with the tip of the cable hitting it in the correct spot when making the circular motion. I am going to attempt to attach the two pieces together and secure. Thanks for the support. Lastly, I have a post about securing the stereo in place I have taken the suggestions of the people on that post and it seems that my stereo keeps sliding out is there more than what it seems or am I making it harder than it should be. I checked the stereo by getting a jewelers flat head in there and turning it clock wise and watched the motion of the clips widen and then move forward. So I attempted to try this in place and it seems that it wont take. Do I need to push the stereo further back? |
