The rear hinges on my 99 DII are very stiff. I have tried cleaning and lubing the hinges and the door restrictor thing underneath the door. It still sticks. My wife can barely move it. I am afriad it will fatigue the attachment points and cause more damage. Any suggestions? Justin |

I own a 99 DII and need to lube and clean my hinges and strap on mine. However, my wife (110 #'s and 5'3) has no problem shutting the door. I would be curious to know if your door sits crooked already. Have you checked for level on the door? |

I was just getting ready to post the same question about my 03, it seems very dry and stiff. Is there a recommended lube procedure for the hinges and strap thing? |

Mine does the same, I've lubed it and it doesn't seem to help. |

I recently had my check strap replaced under warranty (it was broken). You'd know if you broke that, because it sounds like someone is hitting your truck with a hammer when you open the door. I have lubed mine with militec, it seems to have helped it to open more smoothly. |

Another cronic problem. They have little metal washers. Try to keep them lubed with white lithium grease and work them back and forth regularly. I find when not used regularly they seem to stiffen up. I have a 265/75/16 tire and it does not like the extra weight. |

My check strap is fine. Lubing seems to do nothing. Has anyone had to replace the hinges? Justin |

I noticed mine doing the same thing. Looks like someone closed the door on something & bent the sheet metal slightly, causing the closing mech to rub the door frame. I know it's a long shot but worth a look. Bob |

I use motor bike chain lube in an aerosl to lube hinges. It sprays on liquid, penetrates then half sets and stays in place better then oil. bazzle |
