On my 97 and now on my 99 discovery's the lock cylender has gotten to wear they do not want to turn all the time. Even if I move the steering wheel around the key does not always want to turn. Is this common or what should I use to lube the hole? |

its a very common problem... go to a good hardware store & buy some graphite lubricating powder. any lock shop will also carry this stuff. eventually the lock cylinder will need replacement but the graphite powder might help your cause for a while. |

So I guess you have to replace both the lock cylinder and the gas door lock. |

on the way to the hardware store Try these first, push the shift lever forward while you turn the key, that helped mine...if it does not help yours start driving to get that graphite lub. Marco |

no you won't need to replace both locks, LR can get you the lockset set for your key.. It is ordered based on VIN.. might take a little longer to order but better than having to rekey or carry around several keys...
