My 97 Discovery has always had a whining noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. Is this something to be concerned about? Differential? |

That one never goes out of style... Most Disco's whine from the diffs. Seems to be one of those "character traits." Granted, it could be something, but if the truck is maintained properly and doesn't have, say, 300,000 miles on it I'd say you're probably fine. Turn the radio up or get MT tires.  |

Check your diff fluid too. Mine is dark grey after two months which leads me to believe that my rear diff is starting the checkout process. Front and transfer case is still gold though. I was hoping that it would last a little longer so that I can buy a bumper but hey, things don�t always go �as planned� so I�ll be doing diff shopping soon. Maybe next year on the bumper.
