I have a 95 Disco that I purchased and the stock radio seems to be loose. Now I know there are two bolts that hold the thing in but I don't see where they would screw into the dash. Should there be a sleeve that the unit needs to insert into? Lastly, can I pick these screws up at the hardware store? |

use a very small/thin allen key and tighten. the bolts/screws are in there, and they tighten the radio by moving little plates outwards and holding onto the wall of the slot that the radio resides in (so in essence, making it wider so it fits into the gap tighter). At least I am pretty sure this is the way it goes, as it has been at least 3 years since i last took out the radio. |

Barry, I was just working on mine, and one of the problems I had was with the plug for the CD changer getting behind the radio when I was trying to push it in. Also, check out this site it might provide some hints: http://carstereohelp.com/strlandrover.htm Victor |

Ok, I have taken the advice of both gentlemen above and it seems that my stereo will not stay put. Should there be more holding the unit in other then an opening that the radio slides into? Like a chassis? What I can see is the triangular shaped metal piece that has the hole cut out so the stereo can align correctly is that all? |

Barry, this is just a guess, but it sounds like someone may have had an aftermarket radio installed prior and some modification may have been done. There shouldn't be to much slop in the sleeve, just enough for the radio to slip in and be tightened into place. |

All, I was actually able to McGiver the thing in and it stayed. I had to unscrew the alignment pin on the rear however it works. Thanks to all above for you support. |
