SUBJ: 96 DISCO I noticed a humming or rattling sound from the passenger side of the engine close to the belt. The sound is intermittent and, sometimes disappears only to come back to piss you off! It sounds more of like humming when you are inside the vehicle. But, when the hood is open you can hear a rattling sound (not loud) coming from either the belt or the pump? Any ideas??? Thanks, Ray |

Check your Charcoal Canister etc the thing that looks like a black " coffee jar",check purge valve o ring it a small and red in color etc be careful while taking purge valve off ... the o ring over time will dry out and crack overtime...this would cause your canister to work overtime thinking that it has to purge more etc......take a good look at the canister on the top and you will see GM stamped on top etc. just thought you would like to know that ...hope this helps .... |
