I was out the other day in my 98' D1 and I stuck it real hard on some rocks. I came to a quick stop and hit the front axle/ Diff pretty hard. Right when I hit my hazards started flashing and the turn signal indicator on the dash lit up. I turned the hazard lights on and the hazard light indicator on the dash would come on but the lights would not turn off. I could hear a relay in the glove box area clicking and when I turned the hazards on I could hear a relay clicking in the speedo area. When I turned the truck off the lights kept going but when I restartred it everything went back to normal..Do D1's have a warning sensor or something or could the impact have caused the problem? Has anyone ever seen this or have any ideas? |

inertia sensor. against the firewall, under the hood, right in front of the passenger, is the inertia sensor reset button. push that button, and everything should go back to normal (or restart your truck like you did). basically, it is in case your truck is in an accident, automatically sets off hazards and is also supposed to shut the fuel pump off (but it doesn't always seem to shut the pump off). |

No damage to the truck... I was testing out my new lockers and I bit off more than I could chew. Thanks for the tip, hopefully I won't set it off again! |

Detriot rear and Tru trac up front. They were not hard to install but I bought the thirds pre assembled and just swapped em' out. Definetly the way to go in my book. Its makes it cheaper and faster. Plus I went to 4.11 gears and I felt I would let someone with more experience do that set up. Bill at Great Basin can answer all your questions. Hes in the vendor list under resourses. Also check out the tech section installing ARB lockers its dead on. Same proceedure minus the compressor and air lines. |
