I dropped my car off to get the front windshield replaced and it looks like the guys working on my rover some how broke the wire that runs to the hood release. I tried to pull the wire with my pliers and nothing. Are there any ways to get the hood open without the release? Any suggestions. |

you can get to the cable through the front grill. I had problems with mine, so I pulled it out the front and cut it. I used vice grips to open the hood until I had time to replace the cable.

I know what you mean with the hood. I was half way down the Gibb River road (NW Oz) when I realised I could'nt open the hood. Good thing I had an air jack to fall back on. After 50,000km I hadn't questioned whether that was a good place to store the jack. |

I had the hood fixed under warranty. I am just happy this did not ever happen in the woods. I am going to the NASCAR clips on my hood. |
