Had the same problem with my 91RRC, it was the resistor failing, so it only worked on high. |

Common problem, but not much fun to replace the part. Call Nathan at www.discountbritishparts.com if you want a new one. He'll save ya lots over the same part from the dealer. I replaced mine myself in a few hours, and I had never done anything of the sort. Good luck to ya, post with any more questions and we'll be glad to help. |

Intermittent on 4 is that stupid Seimens switch there on the dash console. I took mine apart and looked at it. Simple design, but not capable of handling the full load of having the fan on high day after day. Land Rover will only sell the whole assembly for like $180. If your handy (most Land Rover owners better be), you can use the switch from the rear A/C controller. Just purchase the rear controller ($80), remove the switch and install it in the old assembly. Not a difficult install, but it does take a little time. Mike 95 Discovery |

Mike is 100% correct" but one thing mike" ...you failed to tell Nino..."what causes fan switch not to work" or sometimes work etc.....the contacts on which the controller slides against will wear down over time creating a small gap in the contacts etc.....it happens because of over use...thats why it happened Nino....just so everyone knows try to explain why these sorts of mecanical problems occur it makes the storys more interesting and more detailed .., "sorry dont mean to be rude Mike " anyway Peace and keep on trucking or shall I say rigging HA HA HO HO...... |
