I've been following the last few discussions on engine idle problems and am planning to clean the by-pass air valve today, will see if that get's me out of trouble. I have the Haynes manual and it says to replace the fiber washer when refitting the valve.. does anyone know what size this thing is or what I should be asking for at the parts store when I head in there..?

type: '96 D1 V8

cheers,

JD.

While your cleaning it make sure to clean out the T-fitting, and breather piece on the top of the passenger side valve cover. Both of those can lead to bad idle air bypass symptoms. Infact my T-fitting and breather were both completely blocked up when I cleaned them.
