What is everyone replacing stock Wrangler HP 255/55/18 tires with on Discovery II's. I had thought about going with a steel 16" wheel and putting on a set of GY Wrangler MT/S. They have worked great on my F-150 on and off road. Looking for Feedback, Shannon |

If you've got brand new 18" wheels/tires, you might look out for someone who would do a swap with you for their 16s, free. Its considered an upgrade to some people who don't offroad. Dean |

265/75R16 will fit on your steelies. MTR's are kinda loud after some wear, but a super tire as you already know. If you do a lift and keep the 18's BFG makes a 285/65R18 A/T-KO looks pretty cool but limited traction off-highway. That is a 33"x 11.5 R18. -Jim |

Will the 18's fit on a 97 D1? And how much of a lift would I need for my D1 to fit 285/65R18 A/T -KO's Does Pirelli make 18" A/T's at 285/65R18? Thanks, Tim |

Tim, different bolt pattern for D2 wheels, but I'm sure there are 18's that fit that D1 bolt pattern. You would need 4" lift and rear trimming and maybe even some front too. -Jim |

Do you think you would need the lift to put on 275/65-18's. They are 32.2 inches tall according to the tire calculator. That's .6" taller than the 265/75-16 (31.6" tall) http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Shannon my 265's touch the plastic front edge of the front bumper when turning sharp and under full articulation the rear touchs the front edge of the rear door , based of personal experience the 275's would hit quite a bit.. -Jim |
