Now that I have a Rover, I would like to plan to attend one of the large US gatherings. Will there be a 2004 MAR?

Does anyone have a recommendation as to which yearly gathering is best?

Discuss... thanks

Ooh, there better be a 2004 MAR! On the East Coast, that's got to be the best event, IMHO. You should also be pretty close to Roverfest in Killington. The Uwharrie Safari in NC is a great event if it's muddy (and just ok if it's dry). There's a pretty extreme event in Ontario called Hallowe'en Extreme.

Down here in GA we have Southern Appalchian Expedition (SAE) the first weekend of November. Had over 100 Land Rovers in 2003 attend. About 1/3 the size of MAR. MAR is the biggest I know about and alot closer to VT.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that one. That's a great event, too!

I'm thinking that Roverfest is no more???? Not sure.

MAR looks to be the one to plan for. :-)

Thanks,
Dave

TNRovers does the Tennessee Adventure Rally in August, I believe. This will be the second year. Good turnout last year, and good coverage in LRM as well. Great trails and great people behind the scenes.

I always wondered why there was not a Discoweb specific event, can you imagine that? Sort of a scary thought but it really would be fun. I guess because of the vast difference in geographical locations of everyone here it's impossible. Let's see what would we need to pull it off: shooting range, trails, food, what else?

Halloween Extreme is in Maine, not Ontario. Mostly private attendance though.

There is of course the National Land Rover Rally in Moab every september.. DOH!!... thats by far the biggest I think..

Solihull Society club in CO hosts the National Rally. It could be Moab - it could be the San Juans.

their site for info is http://www.solihullsociety.org/

usually a large turnout.
