Problem - Every 3months, after driving for ~15to45mins, then stopping (turning engine off), then trying to restart ~60min later (weather = 70deg), engine doesnt start (doesnt turn over, no clicks under hood, but soft click between BOO and and one click under pass side foot well). - battery is fine, terminals clean. Wait 60min and turn the key 100 times, and it magically fires right up. - thougts? I am thinking of just replacing the starter solenoid, but never heard of one that intermittant. Any goofy solenoid under the pass side footwell that could do this? Thanks, |

Have you checked the ground from the battery to the truck? Try to clean up the grounds and check the connections to the starter. Just a thought! I had a intermittant starter before on a Honda. I had to tap it with a hammer to get it to work...when it didn't but that was ussually when it was cold? Sounds more like a loose connection of sometype...but I'm no genius! |

I would look into the cables (both + & -) even though the terminals look good.. LR cables are very likely to rot in the middle... the heat of the motor could certainly effect the resistance (thus no start..) Its a pretty easy job to pull the starter to get testes (just be carefull not to break a post of the selenoid....) while its apart.. replace both cables ( + & -) its $15 worth of parts and painless.
