My brother has a home computer with a cable modem. I just installed a Netgear wireless router. I have been able to access the internet on my laptop through my wifi card using Boingo software to connect to the network. No problems at all. My brother hasn't been able to access the internet on his laptop. He's got a HP with built in wifi modem. We've turned on the modem and the software says that it recognizes the router. However, when he runs Internet Explorer, it says that there is no connection to the internet. Any ideas? |

Is his laptop setup to get his IP via DHCP? Or are you giving it a static IP? You also need to make sure the `router' or Wireless access point is acting as a DHCP server if his laptop is expected to get it's IP from a DHCP server. And lastly check the access restrictions on the access point. |

Also check the WEP settings as well and make sure it's as configured. |

Click Start>Run, then type "CMD", hit Enter. At the DOS prompt type: "ipconfig /renew". Take note of the space between g and /. /C |
