Old Blue is at it again. I just got the following error codes: 0300 / 0305 / 1316. My question is whether or not there is something that is common in breaking down. I have heard of plug wires arcing out but can't see anything in that dept. The plugs are relatively new, maybe 17k/mi Bosch P-4s. The other question is what the hell is 1316? I can't find it in my reader mannual or my rover book. They just skip right over it. The low down on my pig is this: 99 D1, 75k/mi (cat replaced at 59k/mi), exhaust smells like eggs (I'm not that smart but I'm guessing catconv again), the error codes listed above, and some hesitation or choppieness in the engine when on the throttle, especially when cold. I'm not set up or smart enough to handle this one but wonder if this is a LR service shop job or should I try the in town mech. He's a Brit, claims to know his Rovers, and is $28/hr cheaper. I'm not swimming in it so that part's important. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all. |
