I'm getting ready for dual TTs in my D2. I'm curious how many of you with this setup went ahead with HD axles? Those that didn't, have you broken anything yet? As always, comments/opinions welcomed. -Mike |

Hi Mike, I installed the axles when I did the TT's/4.11 gears. I've been running that combo for almost 40k, or about 3 years, and 4 cross country trips, blah,blah,blah... The only thing I broke is a front cv. But that was operator error and I don't blame the TruTrac. The TT isn't as hard on the axles as a detroit, but I would change them. One of things that suck about D2's is the rear axle is pressed onto the hub, so if you brake a half shaft, it's not field repairable. You'd have to pull the hub, get the pieces out of the axle tube and beat the stub out of the hub...other than that, with ETC, it's a nice set-up... Frank |

Mike, although I have a D1, I am still running stocks. Broken, only front CV + axle and like Frank, it was my fault. However...My terrain is mud/sand so the terrain gives whereas rock climbing, well, you know. Hope that helps formulate a better choice. BTW, about 3-years on my TTs as well. |

I have been running this setup TT's/4.11 GBR gears in our 03 Disco for about 4 months now. We have done a few decent trails without any issues. I will upgrade in the future once the CDL is installed. |
