I've got a terrible rattle in the driver's side rear door. I've already popped the panel off to check it out and believe the rattling is caused by the wiring harness that was zip tied to something somewhere in the door. I based this on the broken tie I found at the bottom of the door. So, what were the wires tied to? Answers much appreciated.

How did you get your door panel off? Did you break any clips doing it? I also have a rattle in my rear door on the passanger side. I think mine may be on the outside - the little black trim behind the small window on the door. I'm not sure how to tighten that up either.

Thanks.

Brad, I have the same rattle on the rear passenger door. It sounds like a screw is rolling around in there. I decided it wasn't worth taking the door apart to fix it.

Brad--go get a trim tool (or use a salad fork as discussed elsewhere in D-web) and start at the bottom corners of the door, working your way up the door. There are several clips. Go slow and try not to break the anchor (the black things the clip attaches to) off the door. I broke a couple clips. But, it turned out the rattle was coming from the door and the button that releases the back seat when you fold it. Tightened zip tied the wires and screwed down the button and I'm good as new. Cheers.

rear door trim removal:
1. remove the 2 screws that hold the door pull handle from its mounts.
2. remove the screw that holds the door release handle surround.
3. detach the trim panel by inserting a trim panel removing tool (or any flat stiff object that will fit) between the trim panel and inner door panel, gently prise out the plastic securing clips from their respective holes in the inner panel.
4. lift the trim panel over the button lock on the top of the door. Disconnect the window lift switch and withdraw the panel.

Just be careful when working the clips out, and they won't break. Any flat stiff object will work to prise them out. I used a piece of rubber gasket material to protect the door when applying leverage too.
