just repacked the front bearings, put everything back together and the brakes squeak like a son of a...... they used to not squeak before this job. the rotors and pads are genuine and plenty of wear left on them. Any advise as to what else to look for. I have cleaned the pads and applied the squeak free liquid that the dealers use. Thanks, Al |

hmmm ... just a guess, ´cause you haven´t replaced any part : while the brake parts wear they remove materail from the rotor, leaving a small edge at the uoter circumference. You will feel this if you touch the area where the brake pads tough the rotor and then follow a centrifugal direction. Maybe readjusting the wheel bearing now brought the pads in conflict with this edge. That´s why it is recommended -if installing new pads- to use a file and take away a little of the edge of the new pads (@ upper and lower edge). ? trapped any stone between pad and rotor during reassemby ? regards, |
