Lookong @ installing a set of lockers in a D2. Keep seeing refs about the weak axles of the D2. Plan on keeping the lift/ tire size sane 1-2", w/ 265/75's. Will this combo cause problems w/ a sane rt foot? Who manuf's stronger axles? |

Any locker on a D2 should have stronger axles. It'll help you sleep better at night. I have a detroit which i love, but every now and then there' a pop or clank which is normal, but I always thought my axle was about to snap. If your light with it, you could get by with stock axles and 32" tires for a while, but why risk it. It will most likely break when your relying on it at most in a place where you need it to get out of. |

Its just playing your percentages man. You never know what kind of situation you are going to get into, and with that set up, you definately have the ability to break your axels. I know that I would not like to be in a situation that I was limited in my driving or places I could go because of an inferior component.
