Hi Well after reading much here about front shaft issues i got all worked up and got meself new custom TW shaft. Now, i am trying to get old one off, and failing MISERABLY to even budge either of bolt/nuts on the transmission end.. (front flange's is ok, as i had them off for gears replacement). Is there some trick to get them off, or shall i keep swearing and pushing? What size are they anyway, b/c it feels like 14mm or 9/16 are wee bit bigger than needed, but if i am trying to step down in size - those seems to be smaller than needed.. Thanks in advance |

a little heat never hurt a stubborn bolt... penetrating oil would work too.... |

Have you tried standard stuborn bolt techiniques? Cover in penetrating lubricant and letting it soak over night? More leverage? (Within a safe and reasonable amount) Using a small propane torch to heat? All this is irrelevant if you are using the wrong size. I do not know the proprer size without going otu to my truck, but a tight bolt is not coming loose with a wrench that is too big.

heat it until the nylon runs out of the nut and then try it. Of course you will have to replace the nyloc nuts. Been there done that. Gordo |

I had the same problem. I finally took out the grinder on two of them and cut them off. |

Peter - there is no space for any serious wrench, other than tiny flat one Overwise i would be able to use one of them new cool sockets that designed to get stripped nuts/bolts out.. |
