WOW..another Ice Climber...I've been climbing ice for about 20 years. Started as a flight paramedic/rescue climber for NPS back in '82 (Alaska) and never stopped...Lead WI6 and teach at home...

being from texas, it is hard work to get on ice, so i hack at it, but i started 4 years ago and love every chance i get to climb.

maybe i should make a trip up for some schooling!

i wonder how many ice screws would have to be placed to make an anchor to winch a rover!?!

I'll be out there in mid Feb to do some ice climbing and maybe some skiing in Telluride. Hope the conditions are good.

Good ice is only an hour and half from me (lucky me), but I've been too busy at work to go.

Mike, why are you living in Texas if you like climbing? :-)

you ask the million dollar question, thomas...

money makes us live in funny places...;)

i am going to try another trip to ouray soon...was thinking mid feb, but it looks like first of march will be more probable. too bad...wouldn't have minded meeting a fellow d-webber out on the road!

it was nice in the park, but we never made it out backcountry. i hear most things have formed up nicely.
