As a continuation of the Catylitic Converter Conversation. Do NRP Y Pipes really give you better gas mileage? It does not say that on their web site. It says better horsepower is that the same? I was thinking if this can get me 2 more miles to the gallon and I'm paying about $.10 a mile now. So at 2 more miles that is a savings of $.20 a gallon. So after 4000 miles it would pay for itself correct?

Well that is the way I'm leaning. Will the Catco converters give me better gas mileage?

I did not notice any changes in gas mileage after they were installed on my 95.

I've got the complete NRP exhaust on my '95 and there is a palpable increase in power over the stock exhaust. It's stainless and tucked in nicely, has a nice rumble without being so loud it scares off every animal for miles. But it is expensive compared to flowmaster, etc.

To me it was worth it, but if you're worried about gas milage on a truck that only gets about 10 mpg, you should get something cheaper. Any increase in mpg with the NRP on my rig is offset by a lead foot.
