I'm new here so I'm sorry if this is posted somewhere already. I recently purchased an 98 Disco and while looking for accessories I have found there is a Series 1 and Series 2 Discovery model. Apparently this change occured during the 98 model year. Since I own a 98 I am confused since some parts appear to be different and I don't want to purchase the wrong thing. How can I tell if I have a Series 1 or a Series 2 Disco?

You have a D1. Just got my 98 also.

For quick tell, D1 tail lights are positioned lower portion of the rear, D2 tail lights are higher.

Which 98 did you get: LE or LSE?

I have a gold LSE with 38K miles. Runs great and looks great. Already had it in mud up to it's eyeballs and about to go out in the snow/sleet/freezing rain today. You can call me Bubba today. :-)

For those needing info about Land Rover models I found the page below.

A 98 with 38K; I'm jealous.

To really make me feel even worse, what did you give for it?
