Good morning.

I am a new owner of a '97 Disco 1 and for the first time - got to drive it this morning through 8" of new snow. WOW! Land Rover Owner for LIFE!

A quick drive train question: As with most AWD systems - what is the % of power going to the front and to the rear? Most that I've seen are 80% rear, 20% front. Is this true for the Disco 1? Also - when I use the CDL - does it equal it out to 50% rear, 50% front? Does it hurt to leave the CDL engaged on icy roads - as it seemed to help this morning when punching it through drifts. With it unlocked, the rear end would move around - and with it locked - it stayed moving straight forward.

Thanks to everyone here for your help over the last week. I'm glad we finally got some snow - so that I could see what these things are really good for!!

God Bless

bz

I asked the question about front-to-rear center differential bias over a year ago.

This IMHO is one of the more interesting and entertaining reads on Discoweb:
