Yeah, I've seen them and they are sweet. The only drawback is that they are really expensive.

I'd like to know who they are made by so that I can order directly from the source. When ECR was selling them it was for about $150 less then DAP wants now.

Just has a set installed here in the UK only last week. They are made in Australia by a company called 'Rangie Spares'. Cost over here 175UKP.

Hi Kevin:

Picked up a copy of Jan. LR World and read your article on putting OME springs in a DI. I saw a statement in the article plugging Dweb and EE, cool. I assume you are the same Kevin Baldwin that wrote the article.

I have them on my Disco...breeze to install on the front, kinda tricky for the rear, although second door is MUCH easier (15 minutes!).
talk to Andrew at Rangie Spares in Australia...the guy ROCKS!rangies@ihug.com.au

Love to hear more information about going through Andrew.

Do you mind posting up any more info, as you get it?

Thanks

Nothing gets past you eh Alan, Looks like I've been rumbled.

It was as a direct result of looking at all the cool trucks on here that persuaded me to ditch the D90 and go for a Discovery. Modified Discovery's are still a pretty rare thing in the UK and the ones we have are usually pretty horribly done. I was determined to build a 'proper' tricked up Discovery so all of my points of reference have been on US websites, especially DWeb. As I wrote in one of the earlier build features: 'The UK builds em, but it's the Americans who perfect them.'

Without doubt this is the best place to come for info. Just finished writing the piece on fitting the flares and you'll be glad to know Dweb gets another mention. When i tell people the D1 is eventually going to be painted bright yellow they look at me like i'm some kind of mad man!

To add to earlier post, Devon 4x4 are the UK supplier of the fender flares and they cost 199UKP (not 175 as per earlier post) for a 3 door and 245UKP for the 5 door.

Roll on Iceland this summer...

Hey Kevin, LR publications are hard to come by here in south Georgia. I'm pretty well limited to LRO at BooksAMillion if I can get it early.

Where can I get LR World?

Ken,

Barnes and Noble and Borders have them most of the time, that is if you have those where you live.

Not one close by, but I'm headed up to Atlanta Sunday so I'll try and find one. Found them online; before I shell out over $100 for a subscription I definitely need to see one.

On the contrary Nadim. The ultimate 4x4x3doors.
My D1 is the UK Commerical (van) spec with three doors, solid rear side panels and no windows.

Safari snorkel fitting coming up Feb issue and Fender flares in April.

Kevin,
You are so lucky...anyways..I'll be replacing glass on the rear doors/quarter panels with plexy...I've actually found the rear doors useful for getting to the gear in the rear (no rear seats). Also will be installing rear winch in April and changing all electric windows to manual.

I fitted the SS myself 2-3 years ago, pretty nice...flares as well...

Good luck then
