I just bought one from masterpull direct with a fairlead. Should be here Friday. I was told by an expert who does this for his job that they were the best. Buy an extention line too.

Other options are X-line and Amsteel Blue.

Chad I presume you know to get one of those nice smooth aluminum fairleads, not a regular steel one. MPull makes them too, around $35.

I ordered from them last week online and talked with MP on Friday. They assured me the order would be here at the end of this week.

I ordered 15 assorted lines from them for a group buy, they said there would be a 3 day delay because of the hooks, and they were right. It arrived shortly thereafter. But I heard bad things about them from others.

Jamil,
They told me mine would ship last Friday or today. I called to verify and was told the fairleeds have not arrived yet...maybe tomorrow or Wednesday. I am not a big fan of "maybe"

The masterpull lines seem to be real nice. Their hardware sucks. I have some hardware from them which I keep on meaning to return... their blocks are *painted*, and of a poor design, their receiver hitch shackle blocks are not machined from a solid block, but use some dodgy looking welding onto a tube; and their shackles are cheesy Chinese jobs that inspire limited confidence espec given that some of them have threads that do not engage more than a couple of turns into the shackle before bottoming out; and the safety hook they attached to the end of the winch line I got from them is nice enough, but IMHO is rated at too low a SWL/WLL. I would have expected a stronger hook.

Conclusion: they're a good place to go for plastic parts, bad for metal parts.

I ordered the winch rope and fairlead from masterpull. 3 weeks later nothing but a confirmation. never did get anything from them. I wound up canceling my order and ordering from www.okrovers.com . they have the same dynex line that masterpull uses. plus they offer two sizes of fairlead, a heavy duty and a slimline, and a choice of hooks.

All,
Thanks for the info. I still have not received any reply from MP. I emailed them this morning and cancelled my order. Still no reply. I called okoffroad and ordered Amsteel Blue and a fairlead. It will be here tomorrow by 3:00.

$200 and i purchased it without the hook and a brass lug on one end.

if the price were the same with hook i would still buy it without the hook as i dont like any hooks.

http://www.offroadonly.com/store/

click on the "recovery" tab near the top of the page. there are different option.

$265 for 100ft with hook
$200 for 100ft without hook

Rob, if you don't like any hooks on your winch line, how the hell do you use it?
