Can I sell my '96 Disco in CA?

I'm thinking of either buying or renting a small trailer and towing my stuff (not much, really) behind my '96 Disco (130k by then). My question is, does my Disco (originally a Virginia rental car) have the necessary California emissions so I will be able to sell it when I'm out there? I'll probably sell it within the next year or so.
