I just got a set of the new Rovertym diff guards. These things are pretty beefy. Made out of 1/4 steel, and they fit the diff awesome. They are wled on so they are a little more difficult to install, but they look like they will hold up really well.

I don't like the design....it seems like they will just deflect the rocks directly into the refrigerator.

I prefer diff guards that provide protection for all of my kitchen appliances :-)

My wife loves it when I bring truck parts into the kitchen.

Will,

They look great, but where would you weld them to on the differential?

I have not installed them yet, but I think I will put 4-6 welds around the edge, right to the thicker part of the diff housing. I hope to install them this weekend, maybe I can take some pictures.

Thanks. I've always wondered about that.

From the time the truck was on the lift, to the time I was done installing the RTE diff guards, 30 minutes had flown by. These were much easier to install than I first thought.

1
As you can see... I needed diff guards...

I used a wire wheel on a angle grinder to clean up the paint and oil on the diff housing and diff guard.

I welded the guard into place useing four 1" welds.

And, I was done. Repeat for the rear.

Hmm, novel idea to make the fill plug and cut-out actually line up (unlike the RN version I have)!
