does anyone know if a radio harness adapter is available for my 03 Discovery? I heard a VW one can be used with some modification but I don't have any info on what the modification is. I have a Kenwood head unit that I want to replace the stock one with. I already bought the trim piece to cover the exposed screws left from the LR Radio. |

Why don't you try calling Crutchfield (888.955.6000). I had the same question for my wife's Freelander and they pointed me in the right direction. |

Hmm, I can't be completely sure about the power wires, but I don't think the wiring diagram in that link was the same for my 2000 DII w/ the premium HK system. I can't figure out what year they specify that for. For mine I did use the VW harness but had to figure out what each wire was for by testing them all. I find out that I only had 4 audio wires total at the head unit(the + and - for left and right channel) as they were pre-amp outputs. Then the wire for each individual speaker, including the subs were down at the amp below the seat. Because of this, I wired the pre-amp signals from my new head unit down to the factory amp, so that the amp still drove all the speakers including the rear subwoofers(the crossovers are built into the factory amp). -Stuart |
