Front right brake pads stuck shut? Pressure problem? no ABS light while driving. There is a whirring sound at 1 second iterval when braking (35mph to 0mph). No apparent sound while driving at normal speeds. weather? Other brakes seem fine. Took Right front road wheel off to inspect and the pads are touching the disk. New owner needs some expertise. I read all the ABS archives and don't want to rehash that but is that possibly the problem? |

when braking (not hard) there is sound that sound much like a tire rubbing against plastic. But after much investigation there could be no possible rubbing for the tire. So I looked and the pads and they seem to be "froze" to the disc. Just started happening today, no off road and no funny stuff either. Since purchase(3 months) I have had no problems. |

If your brake was truly locking up you would notice it. There would be pulling to one side or the other (depending on heat) and if you took your tire off and looked at the pads you would be able to tell if they were smoked just by the smell and the paint would be burnt off the pads. When you had the tire off the ground was there any play in the bearings? I agree with Kyle, sounds like wheel bearings. |

Ryan, Piece of cake "do it yourself" job...........While you are at it think about changing your rotors as you will have them off. Get a manual if you don't already have one. |
