Tried to check my fluids this A.M. Due to the ridiculous Chicago cold, the handle had evidently become brittle and it snapped off in my hand. I think there's enough left to get it open, but how do you go about replacing the whole thing? Can I get one at Pep Boys or wherever, or is this a dealer part? Lastly, is this simply routed though the firewall to the latch, or is it a major P.I.T.A to replace. Thanks -D |

Thanks Gary. I'm so-so in regards to fixing things, but learning fast. I did manage to change my water pump with no major trouble, so if you say it's easy I'll give it a shot. Also, is there a way to make it easier to release...is the tension adjustable on the latch. If I can loosen it I'll save myself from breaking it again. Thanks again. |

Is there any way to tighten the latch not enought where I can't open it but enought to keep my hood from acting like its going to fly out in the wind. |

Tony on the corners of your hood you should have some rubber stops. The stops can be screwed in or out to adjust. On my 97 the rubber stops are threaded on the end. |
