A week ago I noticed that my cigar lighter in my D1 was not lit up when my lights are on. Maybe I was dreaming but I was pretty sure that it would light up green when my lights were on. It works and all so I know that it is the bulb - if it has one and lights up - Can someone tell me if it really does light up with the lights on. Where can I get another bulb and what is the trick to getting that thing out to replace the bulb. vaden |

I just went through the same issue. I couldn't figure out how to remove the cigar lighter without removing the entire center console (The manual state the entire console must be removed) and I needed to remove it regardless to do additional work. It's really not that hard and I was surprised how easy and fast the whole process was. However, the real surprise was the cigar lighter bulb was working; it just wasn't putting out enough light to see at night. I'm sure there was some reason why this was happening but I ended up replacing the bulb with a slightly larger watt output bulb. When you get to the bulb you'll see it's a standard bulb and a match at the parts store is not too difficult to find. The whole job will probably take you an hour to do. I can now see a faint glow from the lighter at night. Good luck, Brett

Go beside the console where the heat ducts are it will pop open. That is how I replaced my lighter just push it through and unplug. Then snap piece back into place. |

Well thanks for your input guys! After I got behind there like you said, I was able to see that the bulb and its wire wasn't plugged into the side of the lighter. All I had to do was slide the bulb inside the lighter and it worked! Thanks again, vaden |

I still wonder why I had to put a brighter bulb in to see the glow. Bizzare. Brett |
