Thanks for the link. Does replacing all the brake lines with steel braided get rid of that spongy feel the rover brakes tend to have?

Just don't get them from Safari Gard. I bought them with a $100 gift certificate & was supposed to only be charged for my shipping. Of course they charged the whole thing and refused to credit the $100 back. The WORST part was that one of the lines' fittings was broken so I couldn't use it at all... would they help with that either? Of course not.

You won't have that problem with EE.

if you want DOT approved lines call paragon performance direct. not to take business from EE, but Paragon told me that the EE lines were not DOT approved (i.e. off road use only). call John Lee at EE to clarify, as i may have been given mis-information, but if the DOT rating in important to you i would check into it.
And Bill B is right, you won't feel a difference in the pedal with either lines, regardless of what "Race guys say".

Re. Stainless steel brake lines.

Has anyone here purchased & installed OEM length stainless steel lines on their Discovery? I'm returning the lines I bought through Precision Brakes in southern Oregon because the rear lines in the set are way off. One of their techs has been trying to find the correct fitting for the rear lines without success.

Thanks,
-Jay Beale

Why do you want stock length if you are upgrading to stainless? If you are going through the trouble to install new lines, you might as well make them longer so you aren't limited in your articulation.

Very true. The trouble is, I haven't found someone who can supply lines of any length with the correct fittings for the rear end. I figured I'd see if anyone has had luck with the OEM lines and go from there.

SafariGard and Rover Accessories both supply Earl's lines

EE has Paragon

Not sure what Rovertyme carries - but they all have the correct fitting for the rear axle.

Alyssa - were the lines you got from Safari Gard made by Earl's?

To tell you the truth, it was so long ago I don't remember for sure, but that does sound right. I know they were not DOT approved.
