I have a 2002 DII with the OME HD springs and shocks. I have seen on DWeb that some have spacers in the rear. Is this something I should think about. Seems like it will even the thing out and add a 1" for $60. Pro's and con's from the pro's and con's appreciated.>JB

Which OME HD springs do you have up front? 779s or 751s? What do you have in the rear? 781s? What's not even? Higher in the front? Stock bumpers? Details. |

779's and 762's. Stock bumpers. The rear needs a "boost", it looks like. I was on EE and saw the same Disco as mine but fitted with spacers. Looks a hell of alot better than mine. Plus they say that you can get a 3" lift by adding them. I am estimating that I got about a 1.5" lift out of my set up. Are there any drawbacks to adding 1" EE spacers in the rear? Thanks.>JB

If you measure at the fenders, mine is about .5" lower in the back with all my recovery gear, powertank, and tuffy box. I may need some spacers when the fuel tank guard goes on. Load up your trunk with the usual camping/off road gear etc and do some measuring and see how off it is. Jamil |

Same set-up, fully loaded, with all the junk for a full 2 week expedition, it's still level... |

John: To answer your specific question: "Are there any drawbacks to adding 1" EE spacers in the rear?" I can share my experience. I have the 1" spacers from EE and they worked for my needs. The OME shocks I have limit the travel, so I can keep my stock brake lines and ABS wires. Even at full articulation, both are fine. I'm still trying to figure out why you are an inch off with stock bumpers. Back before I got 751s up front (3" lift), I was level with 779s and 781s (2" lift). Maybe the 762s don't sit up as high as the 781s?
