Does anyone out there have experience with the Stealth Steel Wheels from Atlantic British. I'm planning on putting them on a stock D2 as second wheels for off-roading. I have 18s I'll keep for the streets. I plan to lift eventually, but not for a year or so. I would rather not have to buy new wheels then. I was thinking of running 245's 30.5 in to cut down on rubbing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

I think that's what I have. My garage ordered them for me from AB. Great wheels with a bit of offset. Truck gets a lot dirtier now that the tires stick out but I am quite happy with them. Check out my site for tons of pics with them on: http://www.jamilabbasy.com/ Jamil |

what does the offset do for you? Is it just there for added stability as tire sizes increase or to allow for wider tires? I'm a tire savant. Thanks. |

Jason: Maybe we should be asking you the questions. You mean "tire idiot"? Seriously, though, there are more than a handful of folks running those wheels on D2s. I've had a set for a while, running 245/75s. It's a 7" wide wheel and you'll see the occasionaly 285 on them. The offset will help with turning radius and give the truck a slightly wider stance. I don't know how great they are but mine have been solid so far. -Mike |

That's a good idea Jason. www.disco2.com has an informative tire size chart that will assist you in your purchase decision. But unlike the photos below; at least purchase some aggressive off road tires to compliment the ability of your stealth rims. http://www.pbase.com/image/21353127 http://www.pbase.com/image/24774020 Hey Mike, I bet Jason could go with 265/70 on those rims......

I've had them on for over a year now and no problems at all. My only real problem is I keep trying to cram larger tires on them. |

Jamil. This is a really stupid question, but is that dual exaust you have there with the pipes coming through the rear fenders? That looks really cool. Was it hard to do without major body work to the fenders? I notice you have the RTE bumper, but without side turn light bars added. I understand he makes a model with them. How do you like the bumper? Lastly, I'd like a rear bumper for my DII. Where did you get yours? I can't find a source. I'd like to add a rear skid plate too. Very nice ride dude! |

Sheldon, It's not a dual exhaust. I just had the resonator cut off and then a curved pipe added to exit through the rear left quarter panel. That way the clearance is about equal on both sides. Not an RTE bumper...they don't make one for the D2. It's a Greg Davis custom rear bumper. You can find his email in his gallery on this site. Really great guy to deal with and really high quailty bumper. I've banged it really hard already and been rear ended by a BMW convertable and nothing happened. I added the lights by drilling small holes and using the existing wiring. My truck is in the shop now for a rear Southdown skid plate for the tank and RTE sliders. For those who questioned about the RTE sliders...they come in 2 parts The L-shaped slider people say will bend and then another part that bolts over top forming an L on the other side to make a final U-shape.
