I purchaced a used 2002 Discovery in August. The first time I really took it off road in some rougher terrain, I cracked the righthand side of the front air dam and also destroyed my fog lamp. I'm planning to put on an aftermarket bumper, so I've been reading some of the earlier posts/discussions on that topic. It seems that a lot of people have recommended the RTE bumpers. I didn't notice much mention of bumpers from ARB. Can anyone tell me anything good or bad about the ARB bumpers? Thanks |

ARB is a good, strong bumper; in a snow-plow kind of way. People like RTE because the approach angle is better, and you can install bigger winch's to the RTE. For example; when I had an ARB, I called them and asked about winches. They told me that 10K is the biggest you can safely go without bending the bumper. Call RTE and they will custom build your bumper to accomodate the winch you want. Like Frank said, there is tons and tons of discussions on this BBS about ARB, RTE, TJM, and some custom folks as well.
