The interior lights work fine (turn on and off as they should) when any of the doors are opened except for the driver's door. When the driver's door is opened by itself, the interior lights will flash on and off, as if it shorting out intermittently. If one of the other doors is open and then the drivers door is opened, the lights go out entirely and will not come back on until all the doors are shut and then one reopened. I've been told by the dealership that there is a main switch that controls the central lighting and that it is bad (estamated $250.00). no thanks. I've looked on-line, but haven't been able to find that part yet. It is also conveniently not mentioned in the shop manual either. Has anyone else had similar problems? It is one of those problems that I've lived with, but there are times when I would prefer not to have the strobe light going on and off. Another issue is the really annoying alarm that goes off when the vehicle is running and a door is opened. Does anyone know if there a seperate fuse or disconnect for the alarm? It did not do this until after the last time that it was at the dealership. thanks, |

First thing to check is the doorswitch, might be a bad earthconnection there. After that, what type of Disco do you have? Have all the schematics for a d1, so let me know Greetz,Joey |

thanks Joey. I've got '99 d1. I took a look at the doorswitch the other evening, but didn't have much time to play around with it. I'm planning on spending some more time investigating this weekend when I also do the Vehicle Speed Sensor. |

while trying to fix an unrelated electrical problem, i began pulling and checking all my fuses under my dash....I dont remember off hand which fuse it was, but i know that when i pulled it, it made my interior overhead lights do exactly what you are saying yours does. They will blink intermittenly and such when the door is opened. You might try checking to see if its one of the fuses gone bad. From what i remember....if you are looking at the fuse box open, it is one of the ones on the vertical columns of fuses on the right side and is one of the top 4 or 5....hope this helps -adam |

If anyone figures out how to know how to disconnect that annoying beeping sound when the drivers door is open, please let me know. It drives me crazy when I need to work outside my truck. Thanks, Jamie |
