I was looking a the pics form Cow Mountain and saw a Disco with different looking sand ladders.
http://www.discoweb.org/cowmountain/cowmtn003.jpg

Does anyone know where you can find these? Are they less money that the ones I typically see?

I believe those are bridge ladders. Technically I don't think your supposed to use standard sand laddrers to bridge gaps, so you would use those. They are thicker and stronger. Bridges like those are more expensive, I am not sure where I have seen them, but either AB or RN has them Im sure. Hope that helps.

Neal;

That truck is owned by a guy in N. Calif. It is totally tricked out (they say he can drive too). I think he is on the events or trails threads for Bay Area wheeling. You can catch him there.

Who says I can drive!?

Neal,

The bridging ladders are imported by British Pacific in LA CA. They run about 400. and they work great. You can use them as sand ladders too. They have kept my truck from going over more than once.

Good Luck

Neal,

I made them out of stainless. Wait until after you get them, then you will come up with a mount without much problem. I have used them a number of times and when you need them nothing else will work. People that live on the East Coast might have trouble visualizing a need for them. Then they come out west like Kyle and stack rocks all day.

It it just me or are ladders too expensive? has anyone found any cheaper alternatives like trailer ramps or something. I can't even find trailer ramps.

Neal,

Here is an example of how the bridges help. The trail going straight is very deep ruts. Guys with 38s and 44s had dug ruts too deep for our little 235/85s and 255/75s to get up. The bypass on the left was the way to go but when your left tire went up on that side and the right went in the rut (it's deeper than it looks) your truck would lay on it's side. With the bridge (see the bridge in the photo) we could get up out of the ruts.
People in different parts of the country have different needs, bridges aren't for everyone. Sand ladders like the Camel Trophy mats are cheaper.

You guys are just pricks. The man has a nice truck and you guys hammer him. If it's not your way it's the highway. And you Kyle, as a member of the Disco Web "team" should know better. You just bring the level of discussion on this board down when you take cheap shots at everyone. I see your BS all over the board. If someone is wrong or fucked up with their info that is one thing, then let them have it. But if it just isn't your thing lay off. You Kyle, should hold yourself to a higher standard, not chase people away from the site. I don't see Axle or Ho shooting off cheap shots all the time. Grow up man, we are all Rover lovers here and should treat each other like family.

LOL. Nope - Ho has never taken a cheap shot :)

Jeez JP, learn to relax and have a little fun. I can almost guarantee you that Kyle is when he takes his "cheap shots". I would bet that those who he takes these shots at could defend their stance themselves if they took the spirit of his posts the way you do.

Wow,

Chill out. I can defend myself, and I did quite well I think. I clearly demonstrated that Kyle is in need of a pair of Bridges! I forgot to mention he carries those rocks in the back of his truck at all times!!

I am fine with Kyle, he is an equal opportunity critic. Sometimes he is on my side and has posted so and sometimes not. Who takes Kyle too seriously! The newbies?

As far as that photo of military surplus steel mat, take another look at my bridges. Not the same tool my friend. We are talking bridges.

Cheers!

Well mike , the bridges and the ladders just leave a bad taste in my mouth. Here is a pic of what matting can do to your truck when it kicks up. http://www.discoweb.org/canada01/DSC00063.JPG

In the pic that mike posted where he was using ramps to jump some ruts that same thing can happen .If the truck slips off the ramp or the ramp kicks out or up you can find yourself in a real bad situation real fast. Its a safer course of action to just notch the rut on the side you want to exit with your boot or a shovel enough for your tire to grab it and winch yourself up out of it...You might get stuck as each wheel crosses the ruts and have to pull the trigger again but you have no risk of unexpected things happening... :)

Kyle
Posted on Thursday, May 23, 2002 - 11:59 am:   Edit Post Delete Post Print Post

Neal that was simply showing you what happens when items kick up into the body. Can just as easily be brake lines , exhaust , trans pan , take your pick......Then , think about fishing that mess out form under there in some damn mud hole with a highlift and a fuse thats getting shorter cause you coulda just winched and got it over with..

Bridge ladders are like every other recovery equipments we use to get our truck out of a bad situation. From winch, to recovery strap to hi-lift, they all have dangers associated with them. To dismiss one over another is not wise.

Give me a break Kyle,

That was not done by a bridge or a sand ladder. Send him over to John for rock sliders. Yes, like everything else you need to know what you are doing. I say twenty plus years of ladders on Camel Trophy events can't be wrong. I stand firmly on my ladders! If my ladders were just fluff they would not be all beat up like they are.

Jon , no matter where you go in Moab there are rocks piled at the ledges. Thats just how it is. You put one of those ramps on that big rock and you are going for a ride.... And Mike , that dent was made by some matting that someone layed down being kicked up into the body... No , it wasnt your metal ramp but an object in the mud all the same. Do any of you know exactly the toll that was taken on the CT trucks by those matts getting caught in the body work ? If you look at the military grade matting it has locks on it to provide sufficient width so that it wont do that dumb shit. You lock some together and you got something going... It will bite you in the ass but by all means dont take my word for it,,,,,ride on big fella....... ride on...

Kyle,

As I remember some guy on Disco Web lost his eye to a Hi-lift handle popping up. And we all know people have been killed by their winch cable. I suggest you not buy any ladders, I like mine just fine.

Kyle
Posted on Thursday, May 23, 2002 - 04:20 pm:   Edit Post Delete Post Print Post

Now how in the hell does that relate to being stuck and getting unstuck with the least possible down sides ? I was talking with Ho about the pics of "The Rock" you posted and the mats. Its actually kinda funny that you chose that one but you cant see the humor in it. I doubt you have been there so you just wouldnt know . I will use your rut scenario since you were there and I wasnt and you are quite familliar with what happened. You used the bridge to get out of the rut. Whats the worst "feasible" thing that could hapen in that scenario ? Slip off the ramp right ? Ramp gets tied up in the under pinnings and you end up crawling around in the mud with a high lift for a bit to get it out ?
OR , you use the winch ya got there and you useit to climb up out of the ruts and be on your way. Now unless you have some really weak ass cable there we cant even say that cable breakage is the worst feasible thing that could happen I mean damn , its just getting out of some ruts.. So , what is the worst thing that can happen by doing that instead of the mats ?

How is it that you don't get the connection? You are saying things go wrong. Things go wrong with all recovery gear. Thats my point and several other people's point that posted here. I am sure you are sharp enough to get that?! You are arguing with a proven piece of recovery gear. Bridges have been used longer than winches. They make em out of logs they make em out of fiberglass they make em out of steel and they make em out of aluminum. Do I need to post more photos?

I think you just like to argue for the sake of it, no matter how off the wall your position is. Yes you can screw up with any recovery gear. Duh.

Count the pages of ladders, too many to count?

Posted on Thursday, May 23, 2002 - 05:39 pm:   Edit Post Delete Post Print Post

What Kyle (i think) is saying, is that in normal useage of recovery gear (winch, hilift, what have you), only thing that can go wrong is you or equipment failure. With a bridge, even if you are using it completely right, no matter how careful, your truck can still very easily slip off the ladder/bridge and end up poking a hole in something important. It is just one of those things that can be easily avoided by the use of a winch (which you already have), so why bother carrying them and worrying about them? If I am way off-base here, have at it.

And Yes , it seems that Robbie here gets it.... I understand that Mike is having Camel visions as he is splashing through the Moo mountains but I dont think he is in the same enviroment as the Sandglow soldiers and I dont think most of the others here are either... Shit! I just got it! I never saw your truck in the mix. I said you have too much time on your hands cuz you made it up to page six so fast. I went back and saw that j**p but never saw your truck. Was it "baby Camel Trophy" because you didn't have ladders on your truck?

Well that is way too weird! Okay big K I give up, you win. I am recycling my bridges at the Budweiser factory because I know that is the only way I can get you to take my bridges out on the trail!!

Jeeessse,
What a thread, Dont post much. But I have a question of a different sort.
On the back of Mike D1's truck is a nice Hi Lift mount for the Spare Tire.
http://www.discoweb.org/cowmountain/cowmtn006.jpg

I've heard that these add enough weight to the spare that you can damage the door hinges and the door. Is that True? At slow speed I imagine they would be fine but I like to travel over ground at higher speeds than some. Maybe having a Rally CAr has something to do with that. :-) Anyhow, the hard jolts could be hard on the door. Just wanting some opinions.
As for the Sand Bridges, I think you guys are worse than the Audi List I'm on. The fact is, everyone has different needs. In some areas Bridges are needed. In Some Sand ladders are fine. ANd some people dont need them at all. SURE..you can make do without them sometimes but often I'd rather spend my time in camp enjoying myself after a good day wheeling while the other guy is still piling rocks to get to camp. If I needed them I would buy them. But first I need tires and some Bilsteins. :-) OH yea, and lots of underbody protection.

ONe more thing,
I noticed Mike D1 is using the GoodYear MTR's. Just wanting info on whether to go with those or Dunlop RT's. I know all about the Dunlops and am leaning toward those but if anyone has comments ont he MTR's or comparison info I'd like it.
They need to work in Snow, Mud, dirt and 95% Pavement. :-) Yea, impossible but thats what I need.
Thanks

You people spend an inordinate amount of time arguing about these matters. Ted posted some interesting pics from the Camel Trophy that are a clear demonstration of the practical uses of sand ladders.

Of course, not everyone on this board is going on the Camel Trophy or trying to float their Disco across a river or construct a roadway in the middle of the South American jungle. With that in mind, perhaps for many the sand ladders are a bit overkill - except in specialized situations.

The best bet is to evaluate the conditions you will be driving in and plan appropriately. Sand ladders are expensive, heavy and bulky - but if you're willing to put up with them, I say go for it! Why should you care whether or not someone on the Internet wants to make fun of you?

Jay , I guess you are not thinking "Outside the box" either. Its not about Mike. Frankly , I dont really care what him and his alter egos run. Its about the many that read these threads and never post. Why is it you guys ALWAYS forget about them ? Do you realize the mail we get from people that just read these things ? Use your head man before you start getting all bold in a thread... :)

Jay,

Thanks for the common sense. Sometimes it's in short supply on this board but most of the time the info and ideas are great.

Don't blame Kyle, I knew this thread would catch shit from him. The best threads alway have a little controversy. I just stirred the pot and brought the flies right in on this one. Anyone with half a brain would know that this; "That truck is owned by a guy in N. Calif. It is totally tricked out (they say he can drive too). I think he is on the events or trails threads for Bay Area wheeling. You can catch him there." was either posted by me or my best friend, Duhhh! It's all in fun. You see Kyle and I go way back. He called me crack head for weeks when he didn't like my winch (the much maligned Multi mount). He's even on my side once in a while with comments like "Mike D1 has it balls on". Everyone knows Kyle is 50% hot air & BS and 50% really good ideas (more good ideas than most people). It's the good ideas we come here for (from everyone) and the hot air & BS that keeps us interested.

I think the hot air and Kyles remarks are a serious distraction from the board. I'll still view the site for info, but I would never buy anything from him. Would feel much better even if it cost a little more to buy elsewhere then support such attitude. Love Rovers, dont like know it alls with lip that love Rovers. LOL, God Damn, if it wasen't for those distraction this board would be boring. This is called having a constructive argument, were both sides debate their points of view with facts (or bullshit), and you get to sift through the information so you can make an intelligent decision that fits for you.

The best part of the heated debates and Kyle's function here on the board: he brings out the worst in the dumb fucks. The more heated the tread gets, the more clearly you can see how dumb people are. From there, you can see whose posts and advices you can disregard.

"I'll use all of you guys for info but I won't support you. Then when this site disappears from lack of support, I'll bitch about it and then I'll go find someone else to use."

Kyle- If I were you reading my post, I would not presume that I was talking specifically about you or Mike. And you're right, there are probably many who read these threads and never post. Those who are trying to disseminate something valuable and worthwhile out of the myriad of commentaries that appear here. I would prefer to post pertinent information to help those who are timid to post rather than see tons of gibberish to wade through.

Remember, most of the lurkers are not as experienced as the rest of you, how about trying to keep the personal references down and keep providing that quality information that Discoweb has become known for?

Mike D1 - I'm not here blaming Kyle because it takes two to tango. If Kyle posts here abrasively and others continue to respond in kind, then the thread deteriorates and no one is the better for it - the Xterra fiasco is an excellent example of this. While you feel that it is the "hot air & BS that keeps us interested", I tend to disagree. I prefer a more civilized approach where we can continue to exchange thoughts, beliefs and information without resorting to labelling one another as a "crack head".

Paul - I am confounded to understand why you would condone actions to bring out the "worst in the dumb fucks"? Why exhault such poor behaviour?

Magnus and Blue- somehow your recent posts smack of elitism. That because Mr. Kyle is a supporting member of Discoweb that all antics and actions should be summarily accepted and dismissed? Roger Fastring announces his displeasure with the activities of Mr. Kyle and that should be such an unbelieveable horror simply because he doesn't want to buy a KVT Bumper?

Certainly we have not forgotten the multitudes on this very board who offered very generously to contribute to a Discoweb fund to keep the Discoweb alive when it's existence was in question just a couple months ago. When the alternative call came to buy stickers and videos, Dwebbers were there in full support.

Well, that's enough of my continuing this thread beyond it's time. But overall, I enjoy this forum immensely, the wealth of information is incredible and beyond these quirky antics, the experience is very rewarding. As always, I look forward to wheeling with all of you in the future.

Elitism? How so Jay? The guy said right there in black and white that he'll still "view the site for info" but he'll never "buy anything from him." The way I see it, that means that he'll use Kyle's info but he'll not help support the cost of gathering/supplying that info. I'm not just talking about using Kyle's personal mechanical knowledge, I'm talking about using this forum itself.

As far as summarily accepting & dismissing Kyle's antics, that's completely up to you. If he pisses you off, then only you can tell him to shuddup - no one's going to do it for you...LOL

Jay,

while it may seem easy to see somebody's attitude (like Kyle's vs someone else's), it is very difficult to judge who brings "valuable and worthwhile" and who's not. Kyle's "yeah right" may be worth more than someone else's dissertation on some subject. Personal references only make the discussion more entertaining.

back to the subject, of course there's merit in the sand ladders. However, their value per pound of weight, or per cubic foot of space taken, etc., is not stellar.

As the other end of this debate (it was my truck that started this thread not me), I would like to say I enjoy bantering with Kyle and anyone else. I don't take it seriously and if it offends you, go to another thread or start a new one. Yes we could cut down a bit on personal shots. There are some that would be turned off to the site if it were aimed at them due to thin skin. But thats the risk, post your thing or idea and reap the great ideas along with the BS that may result (BS often has truth mixed in). As far as I'm concerned this site is bigger than any one person or all three founders for that matter. And I must say I am remiss in not ordering stickers and a video due to a major project consuming me. I will be placing that order soon. I also wouldn't mind a few banner ads if it would help keep this great resource around.

actually, the good reason to buy these stickers is that they fade quickly and need to be replaced :)
they don't peel off very easily, either, so they should be stacked up just like the year tag on the license plate. In a few year's time, they will grow into a full 3D emblem like a genuine Land Rover thing.

So, back to bridges. I do use them, not as much as my winch but they get used a fair amount. I wonder if I am wheeling in very different conditions than most on this BB. That photo I posted from the "trails" photos of Fort Bragg is an example. It took four of us (all modified trucks) over 20 hours to go 20 miles. Am I the only one using ladders or bridges? I love them and they only weigh about 10 pounds each.

Well, I guess we'll have to continue this thread for a little while longer...

Blue writes:
"Elitism? How so Jay? The guy said right there in black and white that he'll still "view the site for info" but he'll never "buy anything from him." The way I see it, that means that he'll use Kyle's info but he'll not help support the cost of gathering/supplying that info. I'm not just talking about using Kyle's personal mechanical knowledge, I'm talking about using this forum itself."

Elitism in the sense that a number of persons on this board throw their support towards Mr. Kyle regardless of the situation. Basically, a number of people demonstrate the stance that it's Kyle's way or you can F-off.

As Kyle widely acknowledges, he is one of three owners of Discoweb.org - Mr. Van Tassel, Mr. Haakonsen and Mr. Ho - that being the case, it is in error to claim that the information provided here that the other person is mining "for free" is Mr. Kyle's. Deciding not to purchase a KVT bumper or whatever other products Mr. Kyle makes is not turning your back on the Discoweb.

As Mr. Kyle later writes: "if no one buys we would still be doing the same damn things, it just would be harder. The ones that should mind are the ones that do contribute..."

I, for one, happen to be one of those that has contributed to Discoweb through the purchase of stickers and videos.

PM - I'm not one who wants to be in a position of deciding what is "valuable and worthwhile", that's something for the readers to decide for themselves.

Kyle writes:
"Now this is good stuff Jay. The BBS is not run any different now then it has ever been. SO , if it has become known for good info your whole post doesnt make any sense ? If some of those readers dont like my posts then I guess we have a few less.... If you dont like the format here then I suggeest you wonder on over to Rovers North , thats plenty boring.... "

There is no doubt that many people come here for the "good information" - myself included. And I agree that this BBS is not run any differently than it has in the past - including the less than tasteful methods that a number of people use. While you may be one of the owners, you give yourself too much credit to believe that others will leave the value of Discoweb based on your commentary alone. There are too many alternative sources of information on here to turn to. And actually, I never knew there was a Rovers North resource.

Kyle continues:
"Jay , you need to give me a hand here buddy. I am looking for your site and your BS system but I cant sem to find it. Could you give us a link so that we can take a look at it ? Maybe then our site will be the success that I am sure yours is................."

Actually, the site that I administer does well for what it is - it services our clientele of family-oriented customers. Without a doubt, our site does not have the traffic flow Discoweb.org has and it's not meant to carry that kind of traffic. I'll allow you to continue your search for the site instead of providing it as I have no desire for a "my website is bigger than yours" discussion. But to help you in your search, I will tell you that it has nothing to do with Land Rovers, off-roading or anything Discoweb related.

John In CA - if you expect me to "get over it" - why do you bother?

Magnus writes:
"Elitist? How is pointing out the absurdity of a representative of the little people telling Sir Kyle how to operate his web site elitist, Jay? "

Do I really need to say more?

As I see this has grown to a longer response than I would prefer, I will say that Mr. Kyle's remarks whether friendly or offensive make no bearing on me. In fact, I find them somewhat amusing, if distasteful. What I am truly amused by are the kinds of knee-jerk responses by people like John In CA. Keep on posting - I enjoy the laugh!

Oh well, so much for a short discourse...

Kyle writes:
"Jay , read that over back to yourself S L O W L Y , you are addressing people that post on this site."

Thanks for stating the obvious.

"Thats who makes the site including myself."

That said, all of us "makes" the site - including my commentary herein. In spite of your displeasure with my postings.

"Aparently you dont like any of us so I have to ask myself why do you bother ?"

Apparently you equate "liking you" with Kissing Your Ass.

"Also , if you had access to hit count and could relate it to what was going on at the time you would quickly see that content is what dictates the hits (Duh)...."

Again with the "my website is bigger than yours" concept?

"I dont even know what that last post of yours said...."

Perhaps you're the one who ought to read my last post S L O W L Y...

"Also Jay ... How the Hell did bumpers get thrown into this... I could give a shit if anyone buys those either..... "

Bumpers, perhaps you remember Roger Fastring's previous post about being willing to buy elsewhere rather than support such attitude? KVT's been promoting his bumpers lately, not Dweb stickers.

John in CA - again, thanks for the amusement. I would enjoy it more if you actually varied your images - perhaps a llama puking would be even more hilarious.

OK , Joy , I dont ussually sit down and put together a post but some people need their hand held. You apear to be one of them so here ya go.
You seem to feel that you should be able to come here and complain about content, but others (Myself included) should just give you the info you need in the format you need it. Is that about right ?
As far as the "My web site is bigger then yours" crapola. Well I hate to break it to ya sparky but my comments were only made after you started talking about the success of this site and what part I have in it . One of your quotes is right here...

"There is no doubt that many people come here for the "good information" - myself included. "

Now I have to ask about the part you have had in it and how you have helped any of the people that visit the site ? You not even knowing about the Rovers North BBS tells us all you are pretty new to the whole deal and also tells us that you probably dont contribute much valuable information. Not that you wouldnt if you had it , its just that you dont have it to give. Is that about right ?

As far as kissing my ass gos,,,I have to laugh over that. I take more lumps from whiny , uptight sniffly little fucks like you then can be counted. I have a feeling you rationalize in your head that way. You dont think the people in this thread posted against your rants because they dislike them , ofcourse it has to be that they are really just "kissing Kyle's ass". Furthermore , deletion is just a click away Joy , if people "Not kissing my ass" bothered me so much I would just delete the post , block the user , delete the whole damn thread..... Everyone gets their say but only a few start yapping about what others are saying... Perhaps thats a by product of you not having anything else valuable to add ? :)
You cant expect to post that crap and not have people all over your ass about it. I know this because I dont expect not to be challeneged when I post half of the crap I post....

Jay, forgive me, but I still do not see where I'm demonstrating elitism. I agree with Kyle if the situation merits it. I disagree with Kyle if the situation merits it. It's really as simple as that. Please help me out here because you make me want to be a better man.

Very often I see people mention "I've bought stickers to support ...."
So have I, and even made cash donation, but I don't see it as making Discoweb mine. What I own is just a couple of stickers, and not this website.

And it really pisses me off to see people think they own this website for buying a couple of stickers.

Our apologies for any confusion, Mr. Davis. Although "pimp-slappin" means "slapping as if I were a pimp", "bitch-slappin" means "slap you like the bitch you are". So you see that we were not calling you a bitch. Again, our humblest apologies.

I think if Kyle didn't have anything to do with the ownership of this site, he would say what ever he wanted and if you didn't like it you can F-off. Take what he says as his opinon, not the absolute truth. If you don't like what he says ignor it. Same thing goes for anyone here saying anything. Bitch or pimp slap(confused on which one to use now) someone if you think they are full of shit. Getting your panty up in a wad and becoming self rightous is as bad as being an elitist know it all. Half the reason I like this BBS is the amusing banter and flying insults. My web site is bigger than yours ... lol thats good stuff ... I thought it was my winch is bigger than yours?

Well then, if you're deciding to read this, I suggest you sit down because this is going to be a long one...

Kyle writes:
"You seem to feel that you should be able to come here and complain about content, but others (Myself included) should just give you the info you need in the format you need it. Is that about right ? "

Complain about content? I've stated publicly that there is a lot of good information on the Discoweb. No complaint there. I've said that I've seen some rather distasteful discourse here as well. Both are statements. Statements that no one has yet to deny.

"As far as the "My web site is bigger then yours" crapola. Well I hate to break it to ya sparky but my comments were only made after you started talking about the success of this site and what part I have in it . One of your quotes is right here... "

Somehow you seem to equate your expertise to be the defining factor in the success of this site.

"Now I have to ask about the part you have had in it and how you have helped any of the people that visit the site ? You not even knowing about the Rovers North BBS tells us all you are pretty new to the whole deal and also tells us that you probably dont contribute much valuable information. Not that you wouldnt if you had it , its just that you dont have it to give. Is that about right ? "

Since you're the admin of this site, I'll leave it to you to use whatever tools you have available to filter through my postings here and see just what the contents of my posts have been in the past. However, I will tell you that I know what I know and I'm willing to admit what I don't. I share what I can and I refer to better authority when I don't. I certainly do not go prancing about, insulting and berating those who do not share my opinion.

"As far as kissing my ass gos,,,I have to laugh over that. I take more lumps from whiny , uptight sniffly little fucks like you then can be counted."

Come on now Kyle, is that really the best you can do? Am I supposed to be offended by your name calling? I mean, you've tried to berate me by comparing the websites we administer, you've tried to berate me by telling me I must not know anything at all because I didn't know about the Rovers North BBS, your cronies have puked on me and now the best you can do is call me names?

"You dont think the people in this thread posted against your rants because they dislike them , ofcourse it has to be that they are really just "kissing Kyle's ass"."

Oh, without a doubt, they responded because they didn't like my rants. They respond in that manner anytime someone doesn't kiss your ass.

"Furthermore , deletion is just a click away Joy , if people "Not kissing my ass" bothered me so much I would just delete the post , block the user , delete the whole damn thread....."

Go on, delete the thread. It would save me the time writing all of this and allow you to be the winner.

"Everyone gets their say but only a few start yapping about what others are saying... Perhaps thats a by product of you not having anything else valuable to add ?"

Perhaps.

"You cant expect to post that crap and not have people all over your ass about it. I know this because I dont expect not to be challeneged when I post half of the crap I post...."

To that I say, Challenge me all you want. But your name calling and other miscellany by your entourage isn't going to bring this thread to a conclusion.

Perhaps you ought to delete it.

Now, onto our next caller...

Blue writes:
"Jay, forgive me, but I still do not see where I'm demonstrating elitism. I agree with Kyle if the situation merits it. I disagree with Kyle if the situation merits it. It's really as simple as that. Please help me out here because you make me want to be a better man. "

If that is truly your position then I do not see that as practicing elitism. However, there are others who do not share your balance, hence our next example from Mr. Magnus:

""Basically, a number of people demonstrate the stance that it's Kyle's way or you can F-off."

And your point is.....? "

'Nuff said.

Until next time, Discowebbers!

Well, after a couple of days away, I expected this thread to be over 200. Here's another of my contributions towards that goal.

Kyle continues:
"Jay , I am not trying to belittle you with names. I am giving names that suit your behaviour. "

Interesting how you deem yourself to be one of a character to label others.

"Maybe your behaviour is belittleing you ?"

If belittleing myself is equivalent to posting responses to you, then most assuredly I am belittled.

"As for the quote above? Are you that fucking ignorant ?"

Only in the minds of yourselves and your cronies.

"Ho ,Ax and myself built the site from nothing. Who the fuck should I give the credit to ? You ? "

And where has it been the issue of credit for building DiscoWeb? It's never been an issue of recognizing that the three of you have worked together to build this website and that the rest of us have benefitted. The only issue at question has been the behaviour of some on this board - including yourself.

You want to twist and turn and try to obfuscate the issues. Someone asked about sand ladders, you got all belligerent about it and you've continued this charade ever since. You have some attitude problems that you should address instead of trying to bully the readership on the board.

And since you decided to mention Ho and Axel, since I have observed this website, they have always presented themselves in a positive, contributory and non-asshole-ish manner. It's a shame that their example hasn't rubbed off on you.

"Yea , and in all that sparky you are proving mine and everyone elses point. "

And what is this point that I seem to be proving?

"God damn are you that dumb?"

Well, dumb enough to continue discussing this with you.

"You read what you wanna read , others read what they wanna read. Dont bitch because they dont wanna read the same dull shit you want to. "

I have no problem with people wanting to read what they want to read. You wanted to engage me in this discussion and now you have to deal with me - I won't back off because you're calling me names and damning God.

"And dont for one minute act as if you are above all this dumb ass because you are right here in the middle of it... Pretending to be above it all.... "

I don't have to pretend.

"Do you write to the fucking news paper and complain about what was in teh god damn sports section? It never ceases to amaze me how god damn dumb people can be....
"

Always trying to cloud the issue away from yourself.

"Jay , arent we quickly aproaching the part where you make some sarcastic remarks eluding to being above all this "Distastefull behaviour and then leaving the thread?"

"Leaving the thread"? Are you trying to project your wishes onto me? Do you want me to leave this thread and leave you alone? Have patience young padawan, after the site move a few months ago, I don't visit D-Web everyday.

"Speaking of "Distastefull",,,,isnt that relative ? There could be many things about you that I personally find "Distastefull" . Dont you think ? "

Absolutely! I wholeheartedly agree that you find me "distasteful". You certainly have demonstrated displeasure with my continued challenge to you.

"Niall , if you want to judge "Win or Lose". He lost when he posted in the thread. Do you and I have to get into it now ? "

Actually, Niall, I lost when I didn't allow Kyle to bully his way around this thread and I responded.

Which reminds me, since I'm the one who lost, Kyle must be the "Victor".

Hey everyone, Kyle has won this, er, whatever this is, and still remains "King of the DiscoWeb Hill".

Go ahead Kyle, claim your victory and your title and let this be the end of the thread.

I have some sand ladders to polish...

Jesus Jay , it took you that long to respond with that little ? So make up your mind , is your problem with me being a bully ? The content of the site (Excuse me , the content you dont agree with) ?
This last post of yours actually confirms some conversations I had offline with a few people. Seems you have been picked on your whole life and I symbolize all the "Bad guys" that have been picking on poor Jay.
The fact remains you are right in this thread posting back and forth with me. To alot I am an ass hole. I think you are oblivious to someone not really giving a fuck what others think (See above) , but I really dont give a fuck either way. I state my opinions just like everyone else and I will get into it with someone here or in person (Something I highly doubt you will do).

Do you actually read your shit before you post it ? In one post you say I give myself too much credit for the site. In another you say that was never the issue ?
So lets get right down to the me and you. What do you have to post about sand ladders Jay and how can you argue any of the points I have made ? In fact , what the fuck do you know about anything mentioned in this thread ? How can you say I am bullying my way around the thread when all I posted was fact. Yeah , you have no clue that its fact cause you really dont have a clue about this subject at all ? Correct ? Perhaps you bought some fancy sand ladders and were pissed off at my statements because of that ?
If you can come up with some things from personal experience to prove me wrong then I will agree with your statement above....
"Actually, Niall, I lost when I didn't allow Kyle to bully his way around this thread and I responded."
Until that time all you have done is what you accuse me of. You filled a thread full of bullshit that isnt worth reading and has no relevance to the topic. I entered the thread with opinion on the topic at hand. You entered the thread with opinionn on me. Dumb ass...
The things I find distastefull about you Jay I wont mention here.....The stupidity I dont have to mention , its clear...
As far as this liittle slice from above..

"(my quote)"Do you write to the fucking news paper and complain about what was in teh god damn sports section? It never ceases to amaze me how god damn dumb people can be....
"
(And then yours)
"Always trying to cloud the issue away from yourself."

As the seemingly never-ending saga of this Kyle chap continues...

Kyle writes:
"Jesus Jay , it took you that long to respond with that little ?"

Waiting for my postings with bated breath, I see.

"So make up your mind , is your problem with me being a bully ? The content of the site (Excuse me , the content you dont agree with) ?"

Actually, I don't have a "problem" with any of the above items. Quite simply, you are a bully. And the content of this site overall is excellent - because the quality of contributions by the readership is such and not because of your pocketbook or administration of the site.

"This last post of yours actually confirms some conversations I had offline with a few people. Seems you have been picked on your whole life and I symbolize all the "Bad guys" that have been picking on poor Jay. "

You've actually taken the time to discuss me "off-line" with others???? HAHAHAHAHAHA! Now, that is HILARIOUS! Paint me what you desire, I feel no compunction to discuss KVT "off-line".

"The fact remains you are right in this thread posting back and forth with me."

And that fact alone seems to drive you to discuss me "off-line".

Oooh folks, Kyle Van Tassel is talking about me "off-line"... Gosh, that really deserves some sort of mention in his "argument".

"To alot I am an ass hole. I think you are oblivious to someone not really giving a fuck what others think (See above) , but I really dont give a fuck either way."

Then why should it bother you if I post something that you don't "like"? Especially since you are someone who proclaims that he doesn't "give a fuck either way"?

Your actions betray you.

"I state my opinions just like everyone else and I will get into it with someone here or in person (Something I highly doubt you will do)."

So, I'm not really "getting into it" with you? Then, what are you doing here?

""Do you actually read your shit before you post it ?"

Only if I have to.

"In one post you say I give myself too much credit for the site. In another you say that was never the issue ? "

In one post I do say that you give yourself "too much credit" and let's review my actual posting from Wednesday, May 29, 2002 @7:06pm for your review:

>

Again, most people are not going to abandon DiscoWeb simply because you act like an ass.

And the credit for the ownership and creation of DiscoWeb has always been to Axel, Ho and yourself.

Yet, you attempt in these discussions to take the credit of the readerships' expertise as your own.

"So lets get right down to the me and you."

Slow down there, KVT San. There is no "me and you".

"What do you have to post about sand ladders Jay and how can you argue any of the points I have made ?"

Do you love to see you post so much that you actually forget the content of the thread? If you're interested in what I have to say regarding the sand ladders, scroll up to my posting on Monday, May 27, 2002 @ 12:02am.

"In fact , what the fuck do you know about anything mentioned in this thread ?"

I know that you act like an ass.

"How can you say I am bullying my way around the thread when all I posted was fact."

How? Because I've already stated it. Strange how you dwell on what I think about you and what I post considering that you proclaim that you "don't give a fuck" about what people think about you.

"Yeah , you have no clue that its fact cause you really dont have a clue about this subject at all ? Correct ? Perhaps you bought some fancy sand ladders and were pissed off at my statements because of that ?"

Perhaps I should let you know that I had my sand ladders chrome plated to match the chrome bumpers, trim and brush guards on my Disco1 - which means my sand ladders are fancier than most. All that chrome cost so much that I didn't have any money left to buy your bumper.

"If you can come up with some things from personal experience to prove me wrong then I will agree with your statement above.... "

Fact of the matter is that I don't care whether or not Kyle Van Tassel wants to agree with me.

"Until that time all you have done is what you accuse me of."

Dude, you really are hilarious.

"You filled a thread full of bullshit that isnt worth reading and has no relevance to the topic."

It takes two to Tango - thanks for being my bullshit partner.

"I entered the thread with opinion on the topic at hand. You entered the thread with opinionn on me. Dumb ass... "

You really are delusional. I suggest you go back to my initial post in this thread on Monday, May 27, 2002 @ 12:02am before making such foolhardly assertations.

You, Kyle Van Tassel, had no mention in my initial post - much to your chagrin.

"The things I find distastefull about you Jay I wont mention here.....The stupidity I dont have to mention , its clear..."

Oooh, I'm scared.

"This says quite alot , this place is no different . You read shit here , some you like , some you dont....As far as you being a self proclaimed challenge ? LOL Big boy , not in your wildest dreams...."

Like I said previously, you're already the proclaimed "Victor" - why not end the thread here?

LOL...that's pretty funny. A lot of people on this board need to get jobs ;-)

I have a job. It sucks. I can't wait for school to start up again in September.

Hey Mr Anonymous, (aka no name person)

I have a technically demanding job that requires me to travel all over the planet. Lucky for me, I have computer access 90% of the time. That means I just multi-task my DWEB time into my normal work. :)

Paul ,as in real life , the pussies will always be pussies. Atleast Jay (No matter how dumb he is) uses his real name in his posts... I think that Anon is a Mexican , notice the use of the caps there...

Kyle may be a lot of things, but at least you know who he is and where he stands :) Not like some self righteous POS who likes to log on and take pot shots at people with absolutley no merit of his own.

Stereotyping an idiot as an "idiot" is one thing.

Stereotyping an idiot as a "Mexican" is another thing entirely.

Seems like there are a number of you who need to review your racial prejudices.

LOL. I can come and go at this party on a whim. That is the thing about guys like you. You think you are doing a great job if you piss someone off. What is your goal: one a day? Maybe two? In reality you are an impediment to societal progress as a whole. A time waster. I would also bet you are also a member of every "anti" group out there: anti- drilling, anti-trail, Save Our Canyons, Sierra Club. Anything you can do to be a pain in the ass :)

Oh well. Live and let live. It takes all kinds :)
