I ordered some parts from AB several weeks ago, parts were in stock. Took one week for them to get from NY to NC, when it is a two day trip. I thought no big deal, shit happens. Monday I ordered injector O rings, Friday comes no O rings. I call up too see what the deal is, come to find out they shipped USPS and not UPS so they couldn't track it. Their advice was to wait it out. I spoke to Bob the manager, and he acted like it was my fault that they shipped USPS. I wasn't even given an option, he said they were just trying to save me some money. They were damn O rings, they could have been stuffed in a small padded envelop and mailed for 60 cents. Bob said no way they would fit in an ordinary padded envelope. His answer was Oh well next time you should ship UPS, yeah no shit. Saturday low and behold O-rings show up, look at statement and they charged me $2.90 for shipping (envelope said $2.60 plus the assholes had the nerve to charge me $3.00 for packaging. I have ordered from them for 4 years and never had a problem. I am not sure if management has changed up there lately, but I will have to start purchasing from other sources from here on out. I was just wondering if anybody has had similar issues, and who everyone else uses regularly?

Sounds odd. I have ordered from AB for years, never had a problem. Package usually shows up the day after it ships, too. I have always had my items shipped UPS, though. FedEx on the other hand, sucks big time in my area.

Aaron,

I've never had a problem with them. Packages arrived promptly. Customer service was great. Might not hurt to speak with them again - most places offer to wave shipping charges or credit your account when delivery mess ups occur.

Good Luck, Jamie

Dont feel too bad I had to wait almost a week and a half for a brake caliper rebuild kit. They didn't give me an option of shipping either. They sounded on the phone like I was disturbing them by ordering parts. The only problem is there aren't a whole lot of other parts companies to purchase parts from.

You have Rovers North, which are usually pretty good, and there is also Nathan Crabtree. EE is also starting to build up an inventory of some Land Rover original parts.

I ordered a fuel pump monday afternoon from AB and it arrived wednesday (from NY to VA)! They even paid for the shipping. I had an excellent experience with them (first time buyer).

The few times I've ordered from them I've had no problems. They asked my when I need the parts by and told me which company they were using. I've dealt with Brian and he's been really helpful. Guess you caught them on a bad day?

I've always had good experience with AB. I wonder, and I don't mean to be accusatory, but is there a chance you started out irate and put them on the defensive? Not that customer service people aren't usually able to handle that, but an irate customer can often get some attitude in return. Just wondering if some introspection is in order?

I thought about that, and of course after the second time in two months I will be irratated. Now I didn't raise my voice, no profanity, just asked why they would choose to ship in an unreliable manor. That is when they told me it was my fault and I would have to sit and wait it out. I was asking for free parts, just a refund on my shipping, and to let them know that USPS was unreliable. Like I said in 4 years no problems at all, January was just a bad month for them. I still like the sales staff, just think that Customer Service needs to step up.

Hmm, maybe they went to Britain to learn about it...
