Well, most of us are not real familiar with the Td5 motor over here. I know I am not. However, it is a computer controlled turbo engine, so there is no reason why the boost cant be turned up. You may need a bigger intercooler. A company called PSI makes a "digital powerbox" that changes some of the computer settings to net 21 hp and 65 lb ft of torque. I think your stock engine has 137, so we are still shy of 180. A stainless performance exhaust for the Td5 is also available, might get you 7hp. A good exhaust can make a bigger difference in a turbodiesel than a gas engine. I found this info in a Rimmer bros. ad in LRM, there website is www.rimmerbros.co.uk . I dont know if you can get any LR magazines in Cairo, but if you can find some then purchase a few. They are full of good ads as well as info. If you cant get any and really want some I could mail you some. Good luck.

Look up J E Fearn and J Engeering, both do intercooler and chip packages that take you to 190 BHP and 380 KgN torque just under £1000

For a fit yourself solution, look up discoparts who do the Dastek Unichip for the TD5 that you can fit yourself

Good luck

there was a good article in one of the recent LRO's on increasing power on TD5's. Check it out, some of them were very rapid.

Cheers

if you plan to increase the HP in a TD5 the first thing you need to do is put a gear drive into it.

guys that have jacked the boost have also put valves through the top of the pistons when the belt lets go.
