My buddy, Dr. Josh, showed me a design flaw in the DII that is super easy to fix. The tube that runs out from under the fan shroud and to the coolant reservoir passes in between the fan shroud and the battery cover as shown here:
The problem is that the battery cover rubs into this tube. Dr. Josh�s tube had a hole rubbed through it because of the rubbing from the battery cover. Mine was starting to wear, but it didn�t rub through yet. The solution is to put a piece of that plastic corrugated wire covering on it as shown in these two pictures:
 I tucked mine up under the shroud (so it looks nice) and ran enough to cover the places where the contact occurs. I cannot take credit for finding this or the solution, thank Dr. Josh, but we figured we would share the solution with everyone. Took a look at mine, definitely showing wear. I put the loom cover on.......thanks for the tip. |
