Hi.
I have a 96 Disco with Rovertym springs in the front and in the rear. I have heard that if you install a bull bar, that the front sags a little. My question is, if I install a ARB Bull Bar on my 96 Discovery, would the front sag with Rovertym springs?

Maybe. Take a measurement from the center of the wheel to the fender lip and record them BEFORE you put the bumper on. Then measure again after the bumper has been put on. If it goes down more than about 1/2", then you can call Steve and talk to him about getting some spacers for the front. If you think it looks fine afterwards, then just leave it. If you don't like how much it's gone down, then get the spacers.

berry..no they will not. steve is great about making sure that the proggrassive rates of the springs compensate for the additional weight. OME is a different story. just find out the progressive rating of your springs. i think you are ok, i have the exact same thing on my truck. all of the suspension of my disco1 99 is RTE. i am also getting the front RTE bumper and i know that they will not sag.

"berry..no they will not."

Not necessarily.

I have the complete 3" suspension lift from RTE, and a Slimline A-bar w/warn winch. My front end went down enough to notice the change after I put the bumper on. I didn't like they way it sloped, so I got the 1/2" spacers from Steve. Now it looks like it did before the bumper was put on.

An ARB bar will not bring down your nose enough to notice if you have RTE springs, especially his newer ones. The RTE springs are designed to keep the truck level when fully loaded with bull bars and winches and the other good stuff.

I have a rovertym 3" and I got about 3.5" of total lift on a naked D1.(measuring from the center of the axles to the fender wells). Next I added a RTE bumper and winch I lost over .5" on the front. Next I added slickrock slider and said goodbye to another .25". So, I lost a total of about .75" or so. And, I agree with Mat add your spacers to get your lift back if you want it. I felt like mine sat too high in the front with the RTE springs even after the bumper and winch was added. So I put a 1" spacer to the rear and used a floor jack to level the truck to my liking and measured the size of spacer I would need in the front to keep that look. It ended up to be 5/8" in the front to get the look I wanted. I had a local shop make the front spacer out of steel and I used the OEM spring retainer on top of that. It was alot of extra work but its was worth it to me. I also asked John @ RTE and he said I could buy two 1" and two 1.5" and level it that way. I went the other way because I didn't want to go any higher than it was at first because I didn't have any drivetrain vibration.

If you spoke with John, you have the old springs. And the original question was concerning an ARB bar which is of less weight.
