Ouch. Other than giving it too much gas, I'm not sure what caused the failure.

Yea, that movie has been around for a while. But I give the guy credit for using the H2 at all.

As for what happened, I think the guy said that he got on the gas since he wasn't moving forward. Then the TC kicked in at the wrong time and caused the breakage. One tire was being pushed in the opposite direction by a tire and when it caught traction, pop.

What I want to know is how they got that rig out of there afterwards. I'm sure its a good story.

Shows yet again the fragility/weakness of the tie rods. They sure break/bend easily. If you get an H2, immediately replace the tie rods with something like 1-1 1/2" diameter titanium or some kind of hardened steel. In my judgement, that's the major weakness on the H2.
