The subject says it all. Are they a direct swap? Are the plugs the same? Are they the same size?

My understanding is that the '95 RRC, having a "Disco dash", that its analog clock is a direct swap. I've also been told that all of the RR clocks were the same size, thus, any of the first-gen Rangie clocks *should* fit.

I've not done it myself, however, I do believe several folks here have done it, and I've considered it myself, having a preference for an analog clock anyway....

Maybe they'll chime in and verify if there were any issues, but I *think* it's a direct swap.

FWIW....

He he... I prefer the digital, that's why I want to swap. I just bought a 95 LWB & I'll be retiring Lucas.

alyssa, they are the same size, perfect fit. you just have to figure out the wiring.

you'd have to see what the range rover wiring is like. the digital requires several wires... constant on for the clock itself, then very dim light for key in "acc", then another for "running light" mode (wired to the dimmer) and voltage on these wires change everytime you turn the key or turn on the lights.

Leslie, the '95 RRC dash is not a Disco dash - it's the best and cleanest-looking dash LR ever made. However, the clock may fit, despite being on the pass. side for RRC.

Alyssa, the Disco's digital clock is such a POS, I wonder what makes you want to do such a swap.

Peter, I like a digital clock, that's why! I find it difficult to read the analog clock accurately because it is so far away... it's almost directly in front of the passenger. I have to take my eyes off the road for too long to read it. I've never had a problem with any of our digital clocks in our Discoveries. (knock on wood). No, the dash on the 95 isn't the same, but it's very similar. I am going to miss the "binnacle" and all its switches... especially the radio buttons. You're right about it being clean. It's just one continuous piece.
Ho, thank you. That gives me all the info I need.

Alyssa, it's interesting -
I've driven the 95 LWB to LA twice this weekend, both times after dark, and both times only looked at the car clock (instead of my wristwatch or cell phone). It's been years since everyone in our family had given up checking time on the Disco's digital clock! If they are interchangeable, I'd be up for a swap!

alyssa, you could, in theory, move the clock to the left side of the radio, and move the 6-button cluster to the right side.

You mean other than the time I traded the one in stewy for two steel wheels :-)

i swapped out my digital for an analog. Although, havent been able to figure out the lighting issue. I still have my digital that i took out, but it has "wood" trim. Let me know if you want it, cover shipping and ill send it down.

My goodness, apparently there was a hive full of LR owners unhappy with their clocks, and I just poked the hive! I've already gotten 4 e-mails asking to swap clocks. I wasn't in need of any clocks... I have enough LRs of my own that I can swap to my heart's content. Sorry, everyone!

LOL
Ron, there isn't any problem with our Disco's digital clock. It is just too poorly located (I have to look under the steering wheel), badly illuminated at night, invisible under the sun, and not fun to look at at any other time :-)
