While playing in the season's first measurable snowfall a few weeks ago, my 96 Disco simply quit running while driving thru a field at 10 mph. The engine would crank and crank, catch momentarily, run very rough then die.

My first thought was that the truck was out of gas (maybe the fuel guage quit working?). I got a ride to a gas station but the truck still would not start, so I towed her home.

A few days later I finally got around to trouble shooting and all signs pointed to a failed fuel pump: 100k miles, no pressure in the fuel rail, and no pump noise when powered on (and no fuses at fault). So I ordered a new OEM fuel pump from Atlantic British. The pump arrived a few days later and I installed it that night ... but still the disco would not start. Still no pump noise. Still no fuel pressure.

Frustrated, I let the truck sit until the weekend when I could do some more extensive electrical trouble shooting during the day. I removed the PS footwell kick panel and verified that all the relays were working. I double checked all fuses. Just when I was getting ready to post a call for help here, I remembered reading about the Inertia Cutoff switch. I figured what the hell and hit the reset button.

The disco started right up!

I was so happy to be driving the disco again that I gave the old girl a complete interior detailing and 2 hour waller in the mud later that night!
