My instrument and heater lights don't illuminate when I move the headlight lever from "1" to "2". They work just fine in "1" (the parking lights). Is there something I can look at without tearing into the steering wheel assembly? I do minor repairs on my truck, so I can replace a switch etc. What part would I look at replacing? Any ideas? Thanks, Mike |

I jujst checked all the relevant fuses. All seem ok. Just realized the rear lights (none of them) go on on the second click either. I saw an earlier post that someone had checked the glove box light connection. This this part of the same circuit? It doesn't illuminate either. Thanks again, Mike

Do your main gagues lights come on? If not than your probably have a bad light switch (the lever on the left side of the steering wheel). Some say they can pull it off and fix it, I tried and made it worst so I had to buy a new one. The swap is easy and very low tech, but the part can run pretty high if you buy it new!!!!! |

I had the same problem. It was the light switch. I simply tapped into the "1" position wire coming from the switch and used a relay to handle the extra load. When the switch is in the "1" position use the relay to throw 12 volts to the old wire. The relay will will take the up the load that normally the switch would take if you did not use one and prevent the switch from getting hot because of the load. |
