Is there a difference between the 4.0 MAF and the 4.6 MAF? |

You can interchange them in the case of used parts hanging around, but there are a few different part numbers so if purchasing new you should get the right one. The same advise applies to ECUs, except that they must be programmed before the vehicle will work. Air meters can be swapped with no programming. The GEMS and Bosch meters are different, as are the 14CUX on older trucks. |

Jack come on! ((((no idea what a MAF is but probably one is a 4.0L V8, and one's a 4.6L V8 Cheers Jack))))) That is a useless post, Listen (read) and Learn!!! The only purpose to that post was to knock your "Post Number" up a notch, you may as well post a greeting in the practice area and reply to yourself a couple a hundred times. RT P.S. A MAF is a Mass Air Flow Senser. Way to go Robisonservice that was a useful post. |

I just purchased a 4.6 engine for my D1. The ECU is a 14CUX with the programmed 4.6 chip. I know that the 3.9 MAF will not work correctly but I have an extra 4.0 MAF laying around. Is the main diffrence just part numbers or should I look for the 4.6 MAF? Thanks |
