Yesterday, I removed the round PTO cover plate of my transfercase and slide out the spline hoping to see the clonking noise problem.(Shift D to R) To my surprise, the splines and two bearings are still fine except the gear teeths are shiny. I am not sure how bad the wear is. If I need to be replaced the part where can I get it. My second question, I put my hand inside the PTO cover and felt a little bit of movement on the gears(felt a gap movement between gears teeth). Does this mean all the gears need to be replaced? By the way, The drive gear doesn't have 4X10mm holes drilled in it to let oil in. Shaun, are you out there or any body else. I need input. Thanks in advance for all your help |
